Where is Duremert in FFXIV? ›

Once the quest is done, Duremert will sell the paintings of Alphinaud, Alisaie, Y'shtola, Urianger, Thancred, Krile, G'raha Tia and Tataru for 20K gil each. He is located in the area up the stairs from the Jewel Crozier's mini aetheryte in Ishgard.

This is the same guard from the end of the 2.55 story quests. Once inside the room, speak to Alphinaud, and then complete his quest. This will grant you access to Ishgard, and allow you to begin the expansion content!
