Our team attended the #GlobalABS conference in Barcelona and we're excited to share five main themes that emerged:𝐒𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐑𝐢𝐬𝐤 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐟𝐞𝐫 (𝐒𝐑𝐓): With Basel IV's impact, we anticipate a surge in the SRT market. More banks than ever before are exploring SRT trades to free up capital, aligning with regulatory encouragement for securitisation as both a funding and capital relief tool. We will continue to look at the fast-growing synthetic SRT market, but also on solutions to facilitate the achievement of SRT on cash deals.𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐂𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐭 𝐆𝐫𝐨𝐰𝐭𝐡: A transformative shift in financial markets, private credit's expansion is expected to continue. Securitisation will play a crucial role in funding portfolio acquisitions, forward flow funding platforms, and direct lending.𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐈𝐬𝐬𝐮𝐞𝐫𝐬' 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐭: We are seeing an encouraging increase in interest in securitisation from potential new issuers. This is driven by several factors, but they include the withdrawal of cheap and plentiful central bank funding, the need for funding from other jurisdictions – including Australia – where the capital markets might struggle to handle the supply, and the need to leverage private credit. This suggests there is a fair bit of supply ready to hit the markets in the coming year or two.𝐄𝐬𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐜 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐭 𝐂𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐉𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬: There is a significant amount of interest in new asset classes and jurisdictions previously less focussed on by European securitisation market participants. There's a growing interest in unique asset classes like data centre securitisation with Australia and the Middle East mentioned as jurisdictions, with increasing interest from Europe.𝐏𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲 𝐎𝐮𝐭𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐤: The political and regulatory environment is favourable, with European regulators actively seeking to facilitate securitisations. ⚽ We're proud to share that last Thursday we took to the pitch at Aztec Group's Football Tournament, showcasing our team spirit and passion for the game. A heartfelt congratulations to Leo Melissano, Pawel Buniowski, Victor Cobuscean, Robert Beavis, Yi Wang, Michele Gentile and Gabriel Dardel, our intrepid football players who represented us with determination and skill.It was a day filled with camaraderie, competitive spirit, and sportsmanship.
