Stars Shine at Despicable Me 4 Premiere in NYC (2024)

Will Ferrell was joined by his voice acting costarsSteve Carell and Kristen Wiigat theDespicable Me 4 premiere in New York City on Sunday.

The 56-year-old comedianlooked effortlessly stylish in a cream-colored track jacket with black and gold details ahead of the upcoming Universal Pictures animated movie release.

He also sported black pants and off-white sneakers with dark laces to match the rest of his outfit.

For his red carpet appearance, the five-time Emmy-winning actor — who was spotted at Eurovision with his longtime wifeViveca Paulin, 55, last month — threw on a pair of aviator sunglasses with a shiny gold frame.

In addition to his castmates in theupcoming animated movie, he was also joined by his family at the premiere.

Ferrell also posed for a sweet family photo with his 83-year-old mother Betty Kay Overman as well as his wife and two of their three sons, Magnus, 20, and Axel, 14.

The Elf actor and Paulin’s other son Mattias, 17, did not appear to be in attendance.

At one point on the red carpet, Ferrell shared a warm greeting and a hug with his costar and comedic colleague Carell, 61.

For the premiere, The Office star looked dapper in a dark navy blazer paired with matching trousers, a patterned button-down and suede dress shoes.

Wiig, 50, looked darling at the premiere wearing an all-black, chic ensemble paired with baby pink pumps for a fun pop of color.

The Saturday Night Live alum wore a structured, sleeveless blouse and paired the crop top with a semi-sheer tulle tea skirt adorned with sparkly rhinestones.

The Palm Royale actress styled her honey blonde, chin-length bob in soft beach waves and opted for a light, dewy makeup look with a nude lip.

Joey King, 24, was also spotted at the premiere as she makes her debut in the Despicable Me franchise.

The Kissing Booth actress looked glamorous in a pale green, nearly-sheer corset-style topped paired with a high-waisted, latex midi skirt to match.

She completed her look with sheer pumps featuring white, pointy toecaps.

In an adorable moment, King was later seen posing on the red carpet with a group of Frenchies dressed in Minion costumes.

Miranda Cosgrove, 31, was also spotted in attendance at the premiere wearing a low-cut, floral-patterned minidress with Barbie pink pumps.

At one point, the Nickelodeon alum picked up one of the precious pooches for a sweet snap on the red carpet.

Chloe Fineman, 35, was also seen cradling a sleeping Frenchie puppy on the red carpet.

The Saturday Night Live star wore a high-neck, white lace minidress with dark metallic pumps for the premiere.

She was also seen posing with the group of adorable dogs in a photo with Chris Meledandri, the founder and CEO of Illumination who is also the producer for the Despicable Me movies.

At the premiere held at the Jazz at Lincoln Center, Ferrell joined the cast for a cheery group photo. He was seen with Dana Gaier, Fineman, Madison Polan, Wiig, Carell, Cosgrove and King on the red carpet.

Despicable Me 4 will pick up where the last movie, 2017’s Despicable Me 3, left off.

The official logline for the fourth installment of the hit animated film franchise reads: ‘Gru welcomes a new member to the family, Gru Jr., who is intent on tormenting his dad.’

The plot twist continues as ‘their peaceful existence soon comes crashing down when criminal mastermind Maxime Le Mal escapes from prison and vows revenge against Gru.’

For Despicable Me 4, Carell will reprise his voice role as Gru.

Ferrell will voice act as Maxime Le Mal, Wiig as Gru’s wife Lucy, Joey King as Poppy and Miranda Cosgrove as Margo.

Sofia Vergara will also be voice acting in the movie as a character named Valentina while Fineman will be Patsy Prescott.

Dana Gaier will reprise her role as Edith and Pierre Coffin will once again portray the voice of the Minions.

Despicable Me 4 will receive a theatrical release in the United States on July 3, 2024.
