Hello all this is my first post! I wanted to get others opinions on what to do. I became a Hawks fan in 2019 When I got into hockey. Then when the SA report came out exposing them of covering up the SA of Kyle Beach, I left the team in disgust. Since then I have followed the Blues, but still find myself missing the Hawks, especially when the blues play them. My question is, now that the Purge is done of the staff that covered up the SA, and the POS owner died, should I return to the Hawks, or stay with the Blues?

I think you should just be a Hawks fan and embrace all the toxicity that entails

You were 4 years too late if you were a fan of the Hawks in 2019. Missed opportunity to see them win the Cup live as a fan in your lifetime. Being a fan of a team whether it's good or bad to see them win is worth it. I'd say, once you choose your team and stick with it. I'm a Canucks fan since 1991 so I stick with it whether it be good or bad.

Where is your permanent place of residence or and hometown. Closest team to that area is who you choose. I don't make the rules

I think you should watch what makes you happy and not worry about some protest that does nothing but make your life suck more. Everyone else is watching the NHL and Hawks regardless of whatever reason. And everyone involved with the scandal is gone now as well.

Considering the absolute depths they are coming from—I think Chicago is broadly making progress and going in the right direction in terms of being respectable. But...

The Corey Perry saga still has a lot of open questions for me. It's unfortunate that they couldn't speak more clearly about it to save those innocent bystanders from speculation—but perhaps that was because they had to protect any individuals that may have actually suffered some experience. It was definitely a weird episode but I'm not ready yet to say that it hurt their respectability.

The other item that I wish the Chicago org would take action on is their logo/moniker. I'm not saying that they have to fully replace everything—but I think there is a path to re-designing the team's brand in partnership with indigenous stakeholders to make it something to celebrate rather than be something perceived as derogatory.

Well you basically entered Hawks fandom on the ground floor, nowhere to go but up......one would think, anyway. Going back to the Hawks (23)

Pick up a Bedard jersey and enjoy the ride.

Go back to your black hawks and just accept that there's an asterisk beside your fandom.

I've been following hockey since long before anyone involved in the scandal was even born. You don't follow a team for one iteration of players and staff, just like you don't follow them only when they win. Being a fan is a cycle of joy, disappointment, and sh*t. You can dislike Chicago for how certain people acted during a period of time, but the people and events change. Enjoy the Blackhawks guilt-free for what they are now and what they'll become. The rest is just noise.

Exactly. Just like every family has that one person or a family in the family tree if you go deep enough or laterally enough, you can't just abandon all the good because of some bad apples.

CONNOR!!! BEDARD!!!!

They'll get better eventually but wtf would you not want to be a fan of his team? Yeah yeah yeah what happened with the Hawks happened. But theres nothing you or I can do about it. Between Hawks and Blues I'd still choose Hawks.

The problem is that you worry that rooting for Chicago will be perceived as you condoning sexual abuse? It then boils down to a simple question: do you believe that all Blackhawks fans condone sexual abuse? If yes, keep to the Blues. If no, there is no problem.

For what it's worth, if I were you, I'd go back to the Blackhawks and just enjoy watching Bedard play. That's a hell of a player they've got.

I have lived in Springfield in the past (and would never move back BTW) and I hate the Blackhawks but Bedard alone is way more compelling than anything the Blues are going to have going for them in the foreseeable future. You will probably find more Blackhawk fans living there but more STL Cardinals fans than White Sox and dirtbag Cubs fans combined.

This is like all the dumb ass Canucks fans who said they were jumping ship when the Kraken came in.

Just go follow the Blackhawks, but don’t bother pick up a Bedard Jersey cause he’s coming home as an UFA
