DL Soft Landing (status level decrease)

Is Delta still downgrading only one level per year? I requalified only for Silver this year, am currently Platinum. I expect to be downgraded only to Gold on March 1. Is this accurate?

There is still time for a mileage run if I am wrong.

A few years ago I went from PM to NOm. So, as it says above, book your MR. Remember, DL's only problem are their PAX, if we went away, so would DL's problems.

Sorry Charlie, Starkist only takes the best tuna. :)

Mikey, Bruce, myself and others went away and there are still problems. Guess that too many stayed and thus the problems remained.

Don't blame me.....

Got It: Soft Landing from PM to GM

Yes, it does still happen. I received a survey several months back asking for my feedback on the medallion program. I'm sure the purpose of the survey was to inquire on just why I had flown only 14k miles in '06 but 75k+ in '05. I stated I was upset about a few of the PM program changes (mainly CRC benefit) and that I would be happy to resume my flying patterns with Delta if they would give me GM for '07. A very nice lady left a voicemail for the me the other day saying it was taken care of and I would enjoy GM benefits from 3/1/07 until 2/28/08. Sometimes it pays more than just a few bonus miles to answer those surveys. Although I expected nothing from "asking" for the GM benefit it certainly was a nice surprise when Santa arrived just a bit early. Thanks Delta!

So in the end, none of your grievances were addressed. You were giving free GM status and you accepted so you are happy to still fly DL if your status is comped.

Soft Landing Medallion

Anyone else get a letter with the Silver consolation prize? I was Silver for about 5 years, made Gold late 2005, but didn't get enough MQMs in 2006 for any status. I have already earned >5k in 2007 and have booked about that many more.

Thanks Delta! Anyone else get similar treatment?

I just got a letter stating that I am receiving the proverbial "soft landing" this year. I barely flew enough in 2006 to even make FO (26K MQM) after flying nearly 100K MQM in 2005.

So does that make you an FO or PM?!?

He's PM now, a GM starting March 1st as part of the soft landing.

While you're here, what is the Silver prize this year anyway?

Report Your Soft Landing Status Success from 2007 for 2008

I'm watching my mother's account tonight (and the next few days) as she has 24444 MQMs and has never had status with Delta before. It's not a huge deal for her as she has flight benefits for the rest of her life via my late father's retirement perks...as long as Delta stays in business that is:rolleyes:

Report your bumps to FO, GM, PM, EP and good luck to all!

The soft landing is a given for 2007/2008. In addition, it cannot be confirmed until March 1. What you are referring to is a "comp" or accommodation and not a soft landing.

Also, I don't know how you can tell if you were "bumped" to EP in the absence of any published criteria.

Well, let's break camp and meet back here March 1 then.

HNY to all!

All times are GMT -6. The time now is 10:54 pm.
